Since we started business in 1907, founded on the principle of “Customer First,” we have been growing through relentless adoption of new technologies and continuous improvement.
In the 1960’s, we launched production of polyethylene and polypropylene. We then succeeded in establishing an integrated production system, comprising of film extrusion, printing, laminating and bag making processes. We committed our presence fully into the flexible packaging industry, and today, our business has matured to producing premium packaging with significant added value.
We introduced the flat bottom box pouch style in Japan, while adding additional features such as various zipper and slider closure, as well as unique custom modifications. We are now global leaders with world class capabilities in flat bottom pouch production.
In our production processes, not only do we emphasize quality assurance and worker safety, we also put early efforts into reducing our environmental carbon footprint, by adding automated conveyor systems and harnessing solar electricity from the sun.
Learning from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, we started operations at our Vietnam factory in 2012 in order to strengthen our supply chain and diversify our production globally. In 2019, we started manufacturing in the United States, and we have established a system to supply the TAKIGAWA brand globally. From all three manufacturing sites, we have been responding to climate change and to our customers’ demands for recyclable flexible packaging materials.
In April 2022, Takigawa Corporation joined the Rengo Group. With the cooperation of the Rengo Group, we are confident that we will be able to achieve business growth and technological innovation in line with this era of unrelenting change.
